Welcome to the Spring edition of EXCEL News Magazine.
So many fantastic activities and events have taken place this term, and I am incredibly proud of the achievements of our students who continually prove to be a credit to both themselves and us as a school. Thank you to all staff and students for making World Book Day such an outstanding success. As literary figures came to life, we embarked upon activities and competitions which brought the whole school together to celebrate the joys of reading. In addition, we have had a number of international visits take place including trips to Germany, New York and our annual ski trip to Le Corbier where the group braved low temperatures to take to the slopes to develop and improve their ski techniques.
We have celebrated high achieving students’ results in their mock examinations; have taken part in academic workshops; had fantastic sporting successes and we have continued to raise student aspirations through a variety of enrichment activities including participating in a university Science lecture on graphene at Manchester University.

Looking forward, the term ahead is going to be a busy one, as we welcome prospective students from local primary schools and new sixth form students to join us. As exam preparation continues to be the focus, I would like to wish all of our students who are sitting examinations the best of luck and I would like to thank parents and staff for supporting our students to achieve their very best.
